Since 1 July 2025, the new Ninh Binh province combines former Ninh Binh, Ha Nam and Nam Dinh. Dong Van, Chau Son and Thanh Liem (former Ha Nam) and Rang Dong, My Trung and Hoa Xa (former Nam Dinh) now belong to Ninh Binh.
